Hay Hampers was invited to take part in a lecture at the University of Lincoln today as a case study of a growing business in Lincolnshire.

University of Lincoln lecture about Hay Hampers

About a hundred students from the course of Strategic Management attended the lecture arranged by the Department of Strategy & Enterprise at the Lincoln International Business School and given by Gabriele Da Re, Managing Director at Hay Hampers.

Hay Hampers has been chosen by the University of Lincoln as an example of a local business that has quickly grown through a careful management strategy, becoming a successful company shipping all over the world from rural Bourne - Lincolnshire.

Following closing of the financial year, Hay Hampers has in fact delivered steady and consistent growth for the fifth year in a row, since the company was acquired by the Da Re family in 2014. Now in the year of their 35th anniversary, the turnover has well surpassed £2 million.

Gabriele Da Re, Managing Director at Hay Hampers comments:

“Since we acquired Hay Hampers, we have been making big investments such as a new refurbished warehouse with state of the art packing and tasting areas, and a new ERP system fully integrated with our marketplaces and couriers. These investments, which were meant to improve efficiency, are now paying back”.

Today’s lecture highlighted the main steps taken by the company to achieve these significant results and create a distinctive niche in the gourmet gift market, thus becoming one of the top ten hamper companies in the country.

Gabriele Da Re stated:

“We are very grateful to the University of Lincoln for inviting Hay Hampers and recognizing the value of small businesses in the local economy. Despite Brexit uncertainty, we will continue to identify new opportunities and consistently provide unique levels of service to all our clients. For a small family-run business such as ours, it’s all about people. We know it’s our people who make the biggest difference as we move forward. With great people, you have a great business!”
