Hay Hampers is launching The Bad Day Hamper, a luxury corporate gift designed to cheer up staff with special treats when the mood is not the best.

The hamper, which will be presented at the Employee Benefits Live 2018 Show in London (2-3 October), will be given away as a raffle prize to visitors and contains a selection of carefully hand-picked gourmet foods and drinks.

Amongst other items, there are French truffles for “only a melt in the mouth luxury chocolate sneaked out of the desk drawer will help get me through it” afternoons; a bottle of rhubarb gin for the “that was tough - I need to cheer me up” type of day; health improving green Ceylon tea for the “I can feel a cold coming on and I don’t have time for illness” moment; and a mature Cheddar to eat on sourdough crackers, a quick meal substitute for the “there is no food in the house and I am too shattered to shop” evening.

All these delicacies are hand-packed in a pale grey lidded wicker hamper, which can become a handy container to be reused long after the contents of the hamper have been consumed. Priced £74.50, this hamper is vegetarian and is suitable for both women and men.

Gabriele Da Re, Managing Director at Hay Hampers comments:

“Happy and appreciated staff are essential to the smooth running of any business. So we think it is important to support them in difficult times and show recognition of our appreciation with a useful and practical, yet delicious and indulgent gift. And you will be rewarded with a pleased and productive employee!”

‘The Bad Day’ hamper comes with a rhyme, which helps further cheer the staff up:

The Bad Day Basket!

For a day when you are sad, or the boss has made you mad.

When the plan went to pot or the wished for ‘yes’ was not.

When a ‘thank you’ went amiss or your recommendations fell into an abyss.

When the meeting was a bore or when they asked for more.

When you made a big mistake or the order was a fake.

There is no need to fear – for Hay Hamper’s new Bad Day Basket is here!

Drown it with gin, and let the happiness in.

Correct the knocks with sweeties and chocs.

Reduce the crises with cheese and brownies.
