Hay Hampers is launching the Merry Cheese-mas gift, a brand new cheese hamper for the Christmas season with personalised labels containing a fun-pun.

Alongside wheat-free crackers and a deli onion marmalade, the hamper contains three of Hay Hampers’ selected cheese truckles – an organic vintage Cheddar in the shape of a festive star from Godminster, a mature Cheddar and a caramelised onion relish infused Cheddar from Lincolnshire-based Lymn Farm. Both these cheeses carry festive labels with the message ‘Merry’ and ‘Cheee-mas’

Gabriele Da Re, Managing Director at Hay Hampers comments:

“Cheese has always been our passion and a favourite gift from Hay Hampers. After the success we have seen with our fun-pun gifts featuring wine and beer, we have wanted to find a way to shift this concept into our alcohol free gifts at Christmas. So everyone can have access to one of these added value, joyful hampers in accordance with our company ethos of ‘hampers for everyone’”.

According to national figures, UK consumption of cheese is approximately 700k tonnes per year with a peak at Christmas estimated in £2bn and with Cheddar as the overall favourite. At Hay Hampers, we sell nearly 5 tonnes of cheese in our hampers every year.

Elisabeth Och, Marketing Director at Hay Hampers explains:

“Considering that cheese hampers are our strength, we put our cheesy pun-filled brains into action… yes, that is a pun too but we can’t stop ourselves! We created a Christmas gift that is delicious and traditional at the same time, as well as it adds originality - which we all know gets harder to give each year!”

Priced £32.50 with free UK delivery, the Merry Cheese-mas gift is presented in a red woven basket which can be reused after the delicacies have gone.
